After months of works, and with the forced stoppage in the first moments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the new Brugarolas facilities are now a reality.
The new warehouse, attached to the factory, has allowed the transfer of all the references that were in Can Calopa Logistic Centre as well as the reorganization of the raw materials that were already located in the factory. At a logistical level, this represents a significant improvement in the efficiency of orders management.
12,000 m2 allow the availability of 6,000 locations, which are divided into 3 plants that will be managed with 4 forklifts. In terms of loading bays, we have gone from one to four, thus quadrupling the simultaneous truck loading capacity.
The second update, and perhaps the most visual, is the implementation of a photovoltaic installation for self-consumption on the roofs of the new warehouse. The solar panels, which occupy about 4,000m2, corresponding to the two sides focused to the south of the warehouse and the factory, consist of 960 state-of-the-art modules with a total power of more than 420kWp. With this installed power, we are already generating more than 45% of the factory’s total consumption.
Thus, on an annual basis, the photovoltaic installation will provide the factory with energy equivalent to the consumption of more than 80 houses, which is equivalent to more than 50 tons of oil. Our goal is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
