Brugarolas SA participates in the project HiEfBe (High efficiency advanced bearings for extreme conditions), that has 2 companies involved, FERSA BEARINGS from Zaragoza (Spain) acting as project leader, and BRUGAROLAS, SA. as lubricating grease specialist; and also the project has the participation of 2 Technological Centres (FUNDACION AITIIP from Zaragoza and IK4-TEKNIKER from Bilbao) acting as plastic specialist the first one and tribology specialist the second one.

The project has a global budget close to one million euro, is founded through RETOS COLABORACION 2016 program from MINECO, and it is also co-founded with FEDER founds from the UE; by means of a loan around 500.000 euro and a grant of 332.000 euro during a 3 year period, from September 2016 to August 2019.

HiEfBe has the scientific-technical objective of developing new advanced bearings of high efficiency that have to be able to work in extreme conditions of temperature, from -45ºC to 180ºC.

The project is aligned with RETO 4 program (Intelligent transport, sustainable and integrated) because it develop and integrates nanotechnology applied to new advanced materials to be used in the construction of vehicles allowing more efficient and clean transportation due to the improvement of their efficiency caused by the reduction of the friction between their mobile parts.

BRUGAROLAS SA., with more than 130 years of experience in the lubricant sector, will be in charge of develop adequate and efficient lubricating greases, and which best suit the new materials to be developed in the scope of the project.
