Brugarolas participates in the GLUBAA Project for the development of new biodegradable and highly safe industrial lubricants
THE R&D PROJECT GLUBAA HAS THE SUPPORT OF ACCIÓ AND IT IS INCLUDED IN 2014 – 2020 FEDER – CATALONIA PROGRAM.
The companies Industrial Química LASEM -project leader-, Brugarolas and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya; and the technological centres LEITAT and CTM, belonging to the network TECNIO-EURECAT; are cooperating since December 2015 in GLUBAA project, having the goal to develop new industrial lubricating greases, highly safe, biodegradable, self-extinguish and anti-vibration to be used in railway equipment and installations, ski resorts and aquatic parks.
GLUBAA project will long for two years and has a global budget of 624.250€, being financed through 2014 – 2020 FEDER – CATALONIA program.
The new industrial lubricating greases highly safe, biodegradable, self-extinguishing and antivibration to be developed in this project have the goal to give innovative solution to those industrial sectors where the use of mineral oil based greases involves potential risk of fire or entails high maintenance costs due to cleaning operation or the need to apply constantly grease. Likewise, large operations outdoors or industrial activities like foundry or hot forming might benefit from these lubricants, because being self-extinguishing are highly safe in such kind of operations; and in addition, they will be more friendly to environment.
BRUGAROLAS SA., with more than 130 years of experience in the lubricant sector, will be in charge of develop formulations of lubricating greases suitable for the selected applications, using the esters developed by the company leading the project IQL. These developed greases will be tested in field by the third company involved in the project, FGC.
